FAQ

What should I wear to my portrait session?

This is one of my fav questions. Your wardrobe is one of the keys to setting the tone for your entire shoot. I highly recommend earthy tones, denim, neutral colors, NO horizontal stripes, and simple patterns. Please do NOT wear anything with logos, pictures, or busy prints unless advised by your photographer. Couples, if one of you are wearing a patterned outfit, be sure to coordinate with your partner where he/she is wearing a non-patterned neutral outfit so as not to clash with each other in the photos. If you need styling tips or are unsure of an outfit, please let me know and I will gladly help you pick your outfit and I will send you a "What to Wear" Pinterest Board for inspiration! Most importantly, wear something you are comfortable in and feel confident in. This will help you feel relaxed during the shoot and enjoy every moment rather than worrying about how you look. Come as you are and we will have a blast! :)

How far do you travel for portraits, weddings, and events?

I am willing to travel however far I need to for your portrait, wedding, or event photo shoot. The first 60 miles of travel is free, anything further than 60 miles will require a travel fee to cover gas and travel time. The travel fee is $0.80 per mile to and from the location that is beyond the first 60 miles. 60 miles will get me to most locations surrounding Salinas, CA, so if you live nearby it should either cover that drive or it will be just a tad over and will cost a small travel fee. If the location is more than 5 hours away or in another state, I will need to buy a plane ticket (which would be an out-of-state travel fee - described below).

How long does it take to get our photos?

Portraits - The photos will be edited and available to view and download 1-4 weeks after the shoot.

Wedding - The entire collection of photos will be edited and available to view and download 4-12 weeks after your big day! But don't worry, you will get a sneak peak of images in an album within a week after your wedding to post and get a taste of what's all to come!

Events - The photos will be edited and available to view and download 3-8 weeks after the event is shot.

What if we're getting married in another state?

So glad you asked! If you contact me in advance so we can add you to my calendar, I am more than happy to fly to your state and photograph the wedding. There will be an out-of-state travel fee in the US for $1000 ($1500 for Hawaii + Mexico; $3000 for other countries) to cover my plane ticket and hotel.

What are the benefits of having a second shooter at my wedding?

We can be in two places at once, so we will capture so much more for your big day. This will ensure we won't miss any of those important details. Also, both photographers will have different perspectives to give more variety and vantage points in your images.

What photo printing companies do you recommend/use?

My personal favorites are Bay Photo located in California and WHCC located in Minnesota. The great thing about these companies is that you can order your photos online and have them shipped straight to your doorstop, or if you live near them you can pick them up in person.

How do I get my photos?

I deliver your photos through an online gallery and send you a link so you can download them. This online gallery is linked to WHCC, one of my recommended printing companies. You have the option of adding your favorite photos to your shopping cart and buying them in different prints! It's very user-friendly :) You have 2 years from the gallery delivery date to download the photos and/or purchase prints. After that, the online gallery disappears, but you can buy a physical backup copy of the photos you selected on a flash drive before the gallery disappears.

How do I get my wedding video?

I deliver your video through Dropbox. Dropbox preserves the quality and does not compress the file, so you will receive the highest quality for your wedding video. You have 2 years from the video delivery date to download the video. After that, your video will disappear from Dropbox, so I recommend downloading a backup on a flash drive or other external drive.
